During
the joint sitting of the profile committees of the countries participants of
"Eastern Partnership" (Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Byelorussia, Armenia,
Georgia and Moldova) concerning the coordination of the positions regarding the
co initiative EURONEAST (Parliamentary Assembly EU-Eastern European Neighbours)
have introduced their positions.
In consultations on this mater, Volodymyr Lytvyn, the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine took part. He greeted the participants and stressed the importance of the meeting for the development of the further cooperation between the countries-participants of "Eastern Partnership" with EU, stressing mostly on the cooperation of the parliamentary leveling particular he stressed that the countries-participants of the southern partnership should use the possibilities of their collective position and opinion concerning the variety of issues. "We should demonstrate that we do have the position and without us this world that is more and more globalized would not have enough stability", the Chairmen o the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine emphasized.
Borys Tarasiuk, the Chairman of the Committee on European Integration declared that "all are interested in the fact that the Region of Eastern Europe and Southern Caucasus should be characterized as a territory of liberty, political stability, economic prosperity and approximation to EU".
As a result of consultations, the Recommendations for national Parliaments of the countries-participants of "Eastern Partnership" concerning the possibility of the membership in the Parliamentary Assembly EU Eastern European Neighbours. According to the document, in its activity EURONEAST would be led by the principles of differentiation and common responsibility. The participants of the sitting deem that the Assembly should initiate the monitoring for the cooperation within the framework of the Eastern Partnership and prepare the recommendations concerning its development on the Assembly and committees levels as well. It was also announced that EU practices should be implemented in the activity of the countries-participants of EURONEAST and the assistance while coordinating the national system of laws to EU system of laws.
